After 18 months of public engagement, Council approved the Town’s Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP), and after months of writing, the Town of Lunenburg now has new planning documents; a new Municipal Planning Strategy, Land Use By-law and Subdivision By-law for Council’s consideration. Council will be holding a Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. to obtain your viewpoints or concerns regarding the proposed planning documents.
There are changes regarding what you are able to do on your property, zoning, and how you create new lots and subdivisions. The proposed planning documents cover the entire Town of Lunenburg.
The draft planning documents, along with the Comprehensive Community Plan, discussion papers, and What We Heard reports can be found at www.projectlunenburg.ca.
Following the Public Hearing Council may consider the repeal of the Town’s existing Municipal Planning Strategy, Land Use By-law and Subdivision By-law with Subdivision Specifications and the approval of a new Municipal Planning Strategy, Land Use By-law and Subdivision By-law with Subdivision Specifications.
