Town of Lunenburg

Residents of Lunenburg and the surrounding area, visitors, friends and families are invited to come together for a commuity picnic on the grounds of the Lunenburg Community Centre on Thursday, July 1.  The famous Lunenburg Farmer's Market will also be in full swing that day so join us for free BBQ hot dogs and kool aid, birthday cake, face painting, bounce around and games for the kids with great music provided by Mid Life Crisis which will combine to create a wonderful atmosphere to celebrate our great country. The market opens at 8:00 a.m. and the band will play from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. with a 15 minute break at noon when w join in singing our national anthem and hear from the mayor and MLA.  The Sherman Zwicker Citizenship Award will also be presented at this time. The hot dogs and kool aid, followed by Canada Day cake will be served beginning shortly before noon. In the event of rain, all events will take place in the Lunenburg Arena.
